League Setup
The League Setup Webinar will build upon the foundation laid in the 101 and 201 webinars. The 101 and 201 webinars take participants through how to set up an event rather than a league. Events are meant to be started and completed within a condensed period of time, like a weekend tournament or a simple one day event. Leagues are designed to have repeating rounds that span across entire seasons. This webinar will highlight the fundamental differences between leagues and events and how to effectively administer a league. Key features that are discussed are round signups/invitations, scheduling round signup open/close, portal customization, league standings page within the portal, participation points, and when to use a multi round series. By the end of this webinar participants should understand the differences between registration and round sign ups, leagues and events, and how to use the portal as an effective communication tool for league participants.

Season Points (Spring)
The Season Points feature within the Golf Genius Tournament Management software is a great way to determine a “Player of the Year” based on points accumulated throughout multiple events. This webinar will discuss how to create a new season, how to create season point categories, allocation tables, connect the points races to individual tournaments, and how to award season points. Once points have been awarded, we will then discuss where managers can view the standings and how they can make them public facing via the portal. Finally, we will cover how to move on from one season to the next when the season concludes.

Bracket Setup (Spring)
Bracket style match play tournaments are one of the oldest forms of competition in the game of golf. This webinar will take users through how to create a bracket, the various ways to fill a bracket (including qualifying rounds), and how to complete a bracket tournament for both individuals and two person teams. Brackets can be used for season long competitions as well as competitions that will begin and conclude within a few days. The same bracket set up can be used for both, and we will show you how to differentiate the two formats. Upon conclusion of this webinar, users should have a good understanding of the capabilities, when to use, and how to build bracket tournaments.
Session Dates:

Pick-A-Pro (Summer)
A popular tournament format amongst Golf Genius users is a “Pick-A-Pro” style event where participants will choose a Tour Professional that is competing in an event that week (most commonly associated with Major Championships) and combine their score with the score of their chosen professional. Throughout this webinar we will discuss the best practices for this kind of tournament and how to use divisions and teams to achieve the desired results to determine an overall winner.
Ryder Cup (Summer)
Ryder Cup events are another very popular style of competition among Golf Genius users. These events are often played as interclub events, buddies’ trips, or in a highly competitive setting that requires qualifying just like the actual Ryder Cup. These kinds of events give everybody the opportunity to experience team golf and the thrills that go along with it. During this webinar we will discuss how to create teams, how to contest popular match play formats, and how to get points to distribute to the overall teams. We will also discuss popular variations of this setup that many managers will use to create a more condensed version of a Ryder Cup tournament. By the end of this webinar users will understand how to create and execute a Ryder Cup tournament as well as how to use some finishing touches like including team colors and displaying a team match play leaderboard.
Parent/Child (Summer)
A common format, especially at private clubs, is a parent child tournament in which moms and dads can team up with their kids to compete against other parent/child (or grandparent/grandchild) duos. Throughout this webinar we will discuss how to create different divisions for various ages and how to allow parents to play on a team with more than one of their kids. We will also discuss popular formats that work well with this kind of setup. This is a fun and engaging way for families to experience the game of golf together.
Scorecard Composer (Fall)
The scorecard composer webinar is a branch of the Report Center webinar that is offered year-round. The scorecard composer behaves similarly to the report composer, but with a few key differences. Throughout this webinar we will take participants through how to create a custom scorecard from scratch as well as how to import and edit scorecards other Golf Genius Users have created. Custom scorecards that coincide with the format of the event being played is another great way to add value to the tournament. They can also help Managers stay more organized by promoting players to write their scores in a certain way. This can help from an administration standpoint when entering scores into the system.
All About Portals (Fall)
Event Portals are one of the many features that sets Golf Genius apart from other Tournament Management options. Portals are essentially custom websites that Managers can create for each of their events and leagues. They are extremely powerful communication tools that are often underutilized. This webinar is designed to help Managers get the most out of their Event Portals. During this webinar we will discuss how to create and customize an event portal from start to finish. We will also go through popular ways to set up a portal and the various pages that are available. Upon conclusion of this webinar, participants should feel comfortable creating Portals as well as understand the capabilities of event Portals and how they can add value to events and leagues.
Golf Hub (Fall)
The Golf Hub webinars offered in the late season will closely mirror the Golf Hub webinars offered at the beginning of the year, but generally with a smaller group size. During these webinars we will discuss what Golf Hub is, when to use it, and how it’s different from an Event Portal. Publishing a Golf Hub page is a great way to extend the reach of your tournaments and can help increase participation. Golf Hub is available to all users, but is most commonly used for public golf courses who want to cast a wide net to generate as much participation as possible.
